Sample: a short piece in English

This is a sample piece. The writings section uses first-line indents instead of paragraph spacing, the way books set prose, and this text exists to show that.

A second paragraph begins with an indent. The sentences stay short. Nothing here is meant to survive contact with real writing.

A third paragraph closes the sample, because three paragraphs are enough to judge a page.
